After almost 100 years of saw design and manufacturing excellence, the SILKY YOKI machete (chopper) has been added to its lineup of superior steel blade products. If you are looking for the ultimate tool to attack multiple vegetation types, the YOKI should be at the top of your list. For avid hunters, hikers, or those who travel off road, the YOKI is versatile enough to reduce vines, limbs and small logs to a more manageable or productive size. Similar to the bush axe, the YOKI functions much the same way, but can be used with either one or two hands and is much less bulky to pack with your outdoor gear. Expect the YOKI to be a durable and long lasting tool with a blade you can resharpen and a custom-fitted carrying case with a matching hole-hanger that comes standard.
The Yoki is shaped in a similar fashion to traditional “island-style” machetes - the blade is thinner, but strong due to the use of special alloy steel. Less cutting resistance increases it’s cutting capability.

SILKY SAW TECHNOLOGY...
The Icons below describe the various features that make SIlky Saws so unique and high performing. Please view individual saw descriptions to determine which features relates to that specific model.
Mirai-Me Smooth Cutting
The teeth of the future! Silky blades have precision ground razor sharp teeth, with 4 cutting angles along their length. They leave an especially smooth surface after cutting and are ideal for pruning, greatly reducing the risk of infection. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. |
Non-Set Teeth The blades are made from SK-4 high carbon steel and are taper ground (i.e. thicker at the tooth edge and thinner at the back of the blade). This taper reduces resistance giving smoother, easier, and faster cutting performance. |
Impluse Hardening Using a special high frequency heating technique, teeth are heated instantly and hardened. Because only the teeth are heated, the blade retains its normal flexibility. Hardened teeth stay sharp about 3 times longer than non-hardened teeth. |
Four Rows of Teeth Silky Saw teeth are set in such a way that there appears to be 4 rows of them. These are rough cutting hand saws for heavier tasks. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. |
Hard Chrome Plating Hard Chrome Plating produces an exceedingly hard and durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin, and they are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily. |
Sharpenable Because impulse-hardening is not applied, the blades marked with this symbol can be sharpened with a file. |
Hard Chrome Plating Hard Chrome Plating produces an exceedingly hard and durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin, and they are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily. |
Rubber Handles Almost all Silky Saws have rubber compound elastomer handles, either inserted or vulcanised to ABS plastic or steel. Rubber handles are more comfortable to hold, reduce vibration, and offer superior grip in the cold and wet. |
SILKY TEETH CONFIGURATIONS...
Extra Large Teeth
Typically, this saw will be for use in forestry or heavy-duty arborist work. The teeth configuration will range between 3 and 7 teeth per 30mm and will give a very aggressive cut. In general you will be surprised by the smoothness of the cut. |
Large Teeth A saw with large teeth will be ideal for use in heavy/medium pruning tasks, root cutting, and construction. The number of teeth will range between 7 and 8 teeth per 30mm. An aggressive and smooth cut will be achieved. |
Medium Teeth Ideal for pruning work or construction, a medium teeth configuration usually has 10 teeth per 30mm and will give a cleaner finish when compared to larger teeth saws. |
Fine Teeth These saws are likely to be used for gardening and woodworking, and a fine teeth configuration typically comprises of 13 to 20 teeth per 30mm and will achieve a clean finish. |
Extra Fine Teeth These saws will have very fine teeth ideal for woodworking and carpentry, and range between 20 and 32 teeth per 30mm, and a very smooth finish can be expected. |
