Mirai-Me Smooth Cutting
The teeth of the future! Silky blades have precision ground razor sharp teeth, with 4 cutting angles along their length. They leave an especially smooth surface after cutting and are ideal for pruning, greatly reducing the risk of infection. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. |
|
Non-Set Teeth The blades are made from SK-4 high carbon steel and are taper ground (i.e. thicker at the tooth edge and thinner at the back of the blade). This taper reduces resistance giving smoother, easier, and faster cutting performance. |
|
Impluse Hardening Using a special high frequency heating technique, teeth are heated instantly and hardened. Because only the teeth are heated, the blade retains its normal flexibility. Hardened teeth stay sharp about 3 times longer than non-hardened teeth. |
|
Four Rows of Teeth Silky Saw teeth are set in such a way that there appears to be 4 rows of them. These are rough cutting hand saws for heavier tasks. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. |
|
Hard Chrome Plating Hard Chrome Plating produces an exceedingly hard and durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin, and they are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily. |
|
Sharpenable Because impulse-hardening is not applied, the blades marked with this symbol can be sharpened with a file. |

Rubber Handles Almost all Silky Saws have rubber compound elastomer handles, either inserted or vulcanised to ABS plastic or steel. Rubber handles are more comfortable to hold, reduce vibration, and offer superior grip in the cold and wet. |

The Gomtaro Large and Fine teeth saws come in a range of lengths, designed to suit every pruning need. The fine teeth blade is also great for cutting bamboo.
The Gomtaro Root Cutter is a beautifully balanced saw, and like all other Silky Saws uniquely combines a high performance blade with a comfortable and durable rubber handle. The chrome plated blade is specially hardened to deal with cutting roots in and around the dirt and ground.
The Gomtaro Pro-Sentei saw is an innovative dual-purpose saw with both fine coarse teeth on one chrome-plated taper-ground blade with non-set impulse-hardened teeth configuration. The advanced designed special SKS-5 high-tech alloy steel blade provides significantly improved cutting efficiency and maintains superior wear resistant cutting edge. Excellent for cutting both small and large branches without having to reach for another saw.
When the cutting gets tough, the Gomtaro gets cutting! And with a great combination of the high performance blade and comfortable and durable sure-grip rubber handle that really sticks in your hands, this saw is ideal for all pruning tasks.

|
|
|
|
|

Extra Large Teeth
Typically, this saw will be for use in forestry or heavy-duty arborist work. The teeth configuration will range between 3 and 7 teeth per 30mm and will give a very aggressive cut. In general you will be surprised by the smoothness of the cut. |
|
Large Teeth A saw with large teeth will be ideal for use in heavy/medium pruning tasks, root cutting, and construction. The number of teeth will range between 7 and 8 teeth per 30mm. An aggressive and smooth cut will be achieved. |
|
Medium Teeth Ideal for pruning work or construction, a medium teeth configuration usually has 10 teeth per 30mm and will give a cleaner finish when compared to larger teeth saws. |

The Woodboy comes in two types - Dozuki and Kataba. They are both simply fantastic and perfect for intricate joinery. They have two thumb release open positions; one for standard work, the other for tight spots or for kerfing dados. The blade folds into a sure-grip rubberized handle, making it easily portable while protecting the teeth.
The Dozuki has a hard back and comes in 32 teeth per 30mm. The Kataba has no hard back and comes in either 26 teeth or 32 teeth per 30mm.
Silky designed this saw for interior carpenters and other woodworkers needing a high quality tool for the job site.

The aggressive curved blade cuts efficiently with less effort, is harder than conventional blades, and maintains a superior wear resistant cutting edge. The taper ground profile reduces drag and directs more usable energy to the cutting edge. The ultra sharp non-set tooth design cuts quickly leaving a silky smooth surface. Also features an optional replaceable sickle blade for small branches.
The Hayate is manufactured with high visibility colors and comes equipped with a new advanced design sheath with a built-in carrying handle. It is ideal for pruning large branches at higher position without ever climbing a ladder.
These tools should never be used in the vicinity of power or telephone lines. Safety considerations necessitates that the user wear a hard hat and eye protection at all times. Since the saws can cut quite heavy branches, the user should take care to stay clear of any falling material. This is the strongest, fastest, telescoping pole saw available on the market today.
There is also an extension pole saw safety instruction sheet attached - just click on the photo to the left to view.
