About Us

Silky Store was established to ensure our full range of tools, used by professionals in NZ and across the planet for years, were made available to the wider public.

We have been importing and distributing quality tools to horticultural, agricultural and industry wide retailers in NZ since 2005. Not only are our tools superior in quality and design (we import direct from proven, reputable companies that are world leaders in their field) we also stock a full range of spare parts. We would encourage you to view our dealer locator map and pop into your nearest stockist if you enjoy or prefer a physical retail experience. A number of those stores are specialists in their field and are able to offer significant advice regarding pruning for example.

If you prefer the convenience of shopping on line however, this website aims to ensure our entire range is available at the click of a button, and that advice on getting the best out of your hand tool, or spare part replacement & maintenance is easy to find, at the time you need it.

And just to show you we are real people, you can contact us by telephone any time on (NZ) 03 5476874, or email us at sales@silkystore.co.nz.

Rod - our commander in chief and guru of all tools, took up mountain biking some years ago and it's now his passion, finally succumbed to the "e-bike" pressure (but quietly loves it), interests include reading and riding, anything to do with the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends...

Stu - looks after customer service, operations and social media/marketing, been with Rod for over 10 years now, has good knowledge of hand tools but not flash with anything mechanical (lol), interests include football and watching sport, is learning "to ride", and spending time with family...

Janine - the 'mother' of Silky NZ, has her own business but still spends time helping with online stuff and anything too hard for the guys to sort, interests include anything in the outdoors...

Mark - the 'new boy', was in real estate and also worked for a building company, but semi retired and wanted something part-time to do, so now looks after the warehouse and processing orders, interests are pretty much any sport, particularly football, classic cars, music, diy projects and tinkering in the garden...
