  • DESCRIPTION

The SILKY ZUBAT POLE SAW is a lightweight professional grade aluminum pole saw that has an oval shaped cross-section and is aluminum in construction. There are 3 extension option lengths available - 2.65m, 3.3m and 3.85m, and the saw heads have the same 330mm curved blade as the Zubat hand saws. The base pole has a comfortable sponge rubber grip, the pole has a lever lock with spring loaded buttons at the end of each length, and the extension poles gives precise control to the dcirection of the saw blade (especially important for high cutting) and strength and rigidity to the pole, reducing bending to the minimum. Push buttons allow multiple length adjustments and safety clamps hold the extensions firmly in place. Very lightweight and easy to manoeuvre.

The Zubat pole saw series also has the uniqueness of upgrading to a Pole Saw Plus option, where you receive the extension pole saw as well as a standard hand saw handle and belt clip. This enables you to remove the blade of the saw from the pole in a few seconds and attach the handle and belt clip converting it to a normal hand saw. When purchasing these, simply select either (plus) options from the drop down menu above, depending on which length of pole you are after.

There is also an extension pole saw safety instruction sheet attached - just click on the photo to the left to view.

SILKY SAW TECHNOLOGY...

SILKY saws work on the pull stroke, minimising effort and providing a smooth clean cut, maximising tree health. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut. The hard chrome plating produces an exceedingly hard, durable surface, the replaceable blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin, and they are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily.

The Icons below describe the various features that make SIlky Saws so unique and high performing. Please view individual saw descriptions to determine which features relates to that specific model.

Mirai-Me Smooth Cutting
The teeth of the future! Silky blades have precision ground razor sharp teeth, with 4 cutting angles along their length. They leave an especially smooth surface after cutting and are ideal for pruning, greatly reducing the risk of infection. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut.
Non-Set Teeth
The blades are made from SK-4 high carbon steel and are taper ground (i.e. thicker at the tooth edge and thinner at the back of the blade). This taper reduces resistance giving smoother, easier, and faster cutting performance.
Impluse Hardening
Using a special high frequency heating technique, teeth are heated instantly and hardened. Because only the teeth are heated, the blade retains its normal flexibility. Hardened teeth stay sharp about 3 times longer than non-hardened teeth.
Four Rows of Teeth
Silky Saw teeth are set in such a way that there appears to be 4 rows of them. These are rough cutting hand saws for heavier tasks. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut.
Hard Chrome Plating
Hard Chrome Plating produces an exceedingly hard and durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin, and they are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily.
Sharpenable
Because impulse-hardening is not applied, the blades marked with this symbol can be sharpened with a file.
Hard Chrome Plating
Hard Chrome Plating produces an exceedingly hard and durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin, and they are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily.
Rubber Handles
Almost all Silky Saws have rubber compound elastomer handles, either inserted or vulcanised to ABS plastic or steel. Rubber handles are more comfortable to hold, reduce vibration, and offer superior grip in the cold and wet.

SILKY TEETH CONFIGURATIONS...

The guide below refers to the numbers of teeth per 30mm on the blade. Each Silky blade is defined as having "Extra Large Teeth" to "Extra Fine Teeth" and the icons below are designed to help you identify the teeth configuration of every saw in the Silky range.

Picture
Extra Large Teeth
Typically, this saw will be for use in forestry or heavy-duty arborist work. The teeth configuration will range between 3 and 7 teeth per 30mm and will give a very aggressive cut. In general you will be surprised by the smoothness of the cut.
Large Teeth
A saw with large teeth will be ideal for use in heavy/medium pruning tasks, root cutting, and construction. The number of teeth will range between 7 and 8 teeth per 30mm. An aggressive and smooth cut will be achieved.
Medium Teeth
Ideal for pruning work or construction, a medium teeth configuration usually has 10 teeth per 30mm and will give a cleaner finish when compared to larger teeth saws.
Fine Teeth
These saws are likely to be used for gardening and woodworking, and a fine teeth configuration typically comprises of 13 to 20 teeth per 30mm and will achieve a clean finish.
Extra Fine Teeth
These saws will have very fine teeth ideal for woodworking and carpentry, and range between 20 and 32 teeth per 30mm, and a very smooth finish can be expected.
