Mountain Bike track support
Some of the local parks we're currently supporting include;
Middle Hill MTB:
Middle Hill is a unique place with a unique story. And it's not your average bike park. Opening in 2019 and built on private farmland in the Kaikoura ranges, Middle Hill offers fantastic riding experiences for everyone.
Recently, Genevieve from Middle Hill had this to say. "We've been using Silky Saws long before the bike park was created. We always carry one with us just in case we come across fallen trees on the trails and farm tracks. In the 2020 lockdown, we received an epic gift in the mail: a box of brand-new Silky Saws! The guys got straight to work creating a trail made entire with Silky's - no digging, no chainsaws. This was no easy task, but the trail (named Silky Rocks) was completed in just three days and is still a popular choice for riders. Silky Saws NZ has sponsored our annual winter event, the Mud Buster Enduro, since its inception in 2020. The race finishes with the Silkiest Skid competition. Perhaps more sought after than the main event, the competitors who demonstrate the best (silkiest!) skid are awarded Silky Saws. Our trails have been built on a steep hillside covered in dense regenerating native bush, with a lot of Kanuka and Manuka. Silky are the only hand saws sharp enough and durable enough for us. The compact Pocketboy is ideal to take on bike rides, while the Zubat and Ultra Accel are great for the bigger jobs. Cheers Silky."
