Predator Free NZ

Founded in 2013, the Predator Free NZ Trust was set up to connect community groups, Iwi, families and individuals and give them support, advice and encouragement to help control predators and create safe spaces for our unique native species. Introduced predators don't care about fence lines and property boundaries, so doing whatever we can to help, will assist in having a predator free country.

The trust provides access to equipment, information and resources to make it as easy as possible for people to get involved.

Our country is home to many unique and ancient species of birds, frogs, lizards and plants, and many of these are found nowhere else in the world. Predator Free NZ has a mission for New Zealand to be "predator free" by 2050 and will allow our native wildlife to flourish once more.

Silky Store NZ help provide tools to graduates of the predator free programme and love the fact we're doing something special to help. Jessi Morgan from the trust loves Silky Saws and recently said this, "Silky Saws stand out as coveted tools for any outdoor trade, and it was only natural for the Predator Free New Zealand Trust to include them as graduation gifts for our Predator Free Apprentices. The apprenticeship programme supported 65 young people across the country with the knowledge and experience to become skilled predator control operators. As they crack into their conservation careers, these graduates find themselves out in rugged bush, farmland and wilderness environments, working to protect native wildlife. Thanks to Silky Saws, the Trust has made sure our graduates are well-prepared with an essential tool for their fieldwork."
